SYNOPSIS
As is the case with most African communities, fishing in the Bakiga culture of southwestern Uganda is strictly forbidden to women. But after the death of her fisherman husband, Grace, a young mother determined to give her child the life she never had, defies cultural traditions and launches an extraordinary bid to inherit her husband’s boat. Her defiance stuns the closely-knit community and turns her into an overnight pariah. But could she be the hope her village has so desperately been searching for?
