SYNOPSIS
“We Will Remain” is a 30-minutes documentary that intimately portrays the threatened Palestinian Bedouin communities scattered across the Jerusalem desert in the West Bank. As illegal settlements encroach upon their land, these communities confront an extreme coercive environment designed to uproot them, with potentially far-reaching consequences on the entire Palestinian people.
Through firsthand accounts and interviews, viewers witness the Bedouins’ enduring spirit as they confront relentless harassment and eviction pressure. The film sheds light on the broader implications while championing the need for justice, human rights, and cultural preservation.

Directors’ Bio
Bashar Zarour
Bashar Zarour, Palestinian artist and filmmaker, graduated with a BFA in studio arts in New York.
After contributing to building the photo archive for the Yasser Arafat Museum, he opened his art gallery, “Art Sïn’’, in Ramallah.
Bashar’s cinematic journey boasts collaborations with renowned directors such as Muayad Alayan, Rashid Masharawi and Dima Abu Ghoush. In 2019, he was the DoP of the internationally awarded short film “The Pipe” by his brother Sami Zarour.
As of 2021, Bashar has embarked on his directorial journey with the fantasy short animation film “100 Birds”, a project that is currently in the making and is shortly to come to fruition.
His most recent undertaking, marking his inaugural completed work as a director, is the short documentary “We Will Remain”. With its raw stylistic approach it stands as the culmination of years of meticulous research conducted by scholars from 4 universities in Ireland, the UK and Palestine.
